Professor.E is a living Wunderkammer, a cabinet of curiosities in constant motion.

From the 15th to the 17th centuries, the world was brought back to Continental Europe in fragments. From the ports of the Far East to the southern colonies, ships returned with silk scrolls, medicinal herbs, spices, ritual vessels, and strange objects from the worlds of science, nature, and folklore. Gathered within the Wunderkammer, these fragments entered into a continuous dialogue between the myths of the Old World and the imaginations of the New.

We follow the way the world was seen in that era, a gaze shaped by a certain arrogance. Curiosity, projection, and fascination with the unfamiliar often came with deliberate misunderstanding, through which the allure of the foreign was interpreted and reinvented. We remain drawn to the ways cultures take on new forms through encounters, translations, and misreadings, and to the connections left behind in the meeting of different civilizations. These are the traces we continue to obsessively trace through this unfinished state of dislocation.
